I had my last FHI for 2 years, then the plates became uneven. I've used it on all types of hair, it worked great. The only problem that I've had with All my FHI irons is the logo on the hinge always falss off of cracks.

I bought these irons from a hair show in NY city... I have had two for 3 yrs and I love everything about them! I am assuming that now that the general public can buy them that thats why they are having bad reviews... you MUST know how to use a professional tool.

We purchased this straightener on 9/17/06, within 6 months the plates were falling out, so I returned it for a replacement. One year and 1 week after our original purchase date the hinge is broken and the iron doesn't close properly. Fhi says the orginal warranty date is in effect and it will be $42.00 to replace the replacement. This is ridiculous!!!! $100 for a flat iron that has not even worked properly for 1 year. I will never purchase another one of these again. The iron works well, when it is not falling apart, however that is a lot of money for crappy quality.

this thing is f**king AWSUMMMM!!!! get it its the best ive ever had, ive gone through alot of straitners too. its so much better...you will realize how great it it is, and how much eaiser it is to straiten your hair when you get it. DO IT!

Loved the iron! Had it about two years then one of the plates stared popping of from the iron. Spent almost $300 Canadian dollars for it in 2005 & bought it from my hair stylist. Mine has white plates and it turns brown from hair product residue, hard to clean if not cleaned right after use!
