Do your research before buying any flat iron

Look at review comments before buying any flat iron... I bought this ones it okay but I should have bought a better brand... My hair frizzes up in the humid weather... I think it ok.. Dont buy it... Do your homework and buy a better one.. This one is way to cheap...

So i bought it last christmas and i gotta say i loved. it was a reasonable price and works great the only thing is that its not seramic and it dameged my hair

Straightens Great but will DAMAGE your hair!!!

I've currently been reviewing new flat irons to buy and have noticed a lot of stories about HotTools causing damage to peoples hair. I have a similar story for anyone who is considering purchasing a HotTools Iron: I had this iron for years before noticing the damage it is capable of. Through college I would only use it every once in a while to give my hair a little touch up after getting it done by my stylist. Just this year I started using it more often and when I began going to a new stylist she immediately knew that I was straightening my hair with an electric iron. She said that it was damaging my hair very badly and giving me split ends. I, being a big skeptic, promised to toss my iron but really continued to use it. My stylist said to me one day "You really think I can't tell that you still use the iron?" I confessed and again promised to stop using my HotTools flat iron. I finally got tired of constantly needing to trim my badly split ends and really stopped using the iron and my stylist soon commented on the change in the quality of my hair (mostly my dry, brittle split ends which were getting better each time). I couldn't believe I had been doing so much damage to my hair for so long! The iron is very durable as it lasted over 5 years without breaking and it straightens like a dream, but it was not worth the damage or the many inches of hair lost over time from having to constantly cut my horribly split ends. I plan on reposting this anywhere possible to get the word out about the damage caused by this gold plated disaster!!

I have very curly, thick hair, down to my waist. This flat iron makes my hair board straight, and because how hot it gets, i do my own hair in only 40 minutes. The best investment i have made for my hair!!!! I have owned it for about 6 years, and it;s still kikickin'

i'm not sure how long i have had this straightener, but it gets very hot. it has never broke, or shut off during use. although i wouldn't have bought this one for 50 dollars. ceramic plates would make it better.
