I have had my chi now for about 5 years and its still going strong, I have been fortunate. I have read A LOT of reviews about how the Chi's breakdown in a matter of months. I have a thick/waivy hairtype. Ya gotta take a gamble in purchasing an expensive iron, just like anything in life but I honestly have to say it is the best $100 I have spent! : )

CHI's are Amazing!!
Reviewed by: Lorissa from Texas, Thu Feb 15 2007
If you have the money, a CHI is worth it!! I have never had any problem with mine!! If you have thick hair or any type for that matter, this product works, and not just for a few hours, but your hair will stay straight!! It's a little pricey, but if it does break, Farouk will replace for $15 (if you've had it less than a year), and $35 if you've had longer... come on, that's a really good deal!!

It burned my clients hair!
Reviewed by: Gianna from , Thu Oct 26 2006
I was using my brand new iron I've had 1 from 4 years ago and it stopped working. I bought a new one and was very disappointed. I'm a stylist and have heard they weren't as good as before, I bought one anyway because my last one was pretty good. I was doing my guest hair and it burned her hair it fizzed up and left an ugly burn mark on her new color. I was mordified then the stupid thing started to get so hot that the plates melted off the iron. So I was out of an iron money and my client was speechless as I was. I'm starting to think maybe I should of listened to my friend about the iron.

I have fine short natural curly hair, and I feel the Chi iron works best on my hair. Now I have purchased 3 of them so far and just today found out if they quit working YOU CAN HAVE THEM REPAIRED. For 30 bucks go to salonart.biz
