I bought my iron 4 years ago and have used it almost every day since and with beautiful results. Unfortunately, about a month ago it stopped working. It seems to be a problem with the wiring. 4 years is a lot longer than I expected it to last and I felt like I totally got my money's worth from it. I will be buying a new one.

I absolutely love my CHI straightener...I have extremely curly hair, and I went through 4 straighteners before I found this one. Before my hair would just frizz after straightening, and there were kinks, and further more it was damaged. This one did none of that. The only problem I have with the straightener, is that its durability is terrible. I had it for 9 monthes, and one of the metal plates just completely broke off from the wires. I would think it would at least last 2 years with that price tag! But otherwise, its the best straightener out there by far.

I have purchased three chi straightners. One blew while I was using it. The flame that came from it burned my shirt and caught my jeans on fire!! Good thing it wasn't in my hair when it blew up. The second one I had a month and no longer works unless you play around with the cord. This means that it also has a short and will probally blow up again. My third one is the turbo and I have not yet had a problem with it. I believe it is just a matter of time before that one blows up on me too. My advise to anyone considering purchasing this chi is not to. It is a waste of money and worst of all a FIRE HAZZARD!!

I have had two Chi irons. The first one shorted out in about a year. The manufacturer does not post a correct contact # and when I did track them down they would not repair it. Today about 18 months after my second Chi (which has been shorting out as well for the past year) caught on FIRE!! I was using the iron and the cord burst into flames and a cloud of smoke came out! Very poorly made and dangerous product

it was great, for about 4 min. then all of a suddend the PLATES MELTED OFF! it burned a part of my carpet! i hate it! dont waste your money!
