I've had my Chi for 6 months, it broke, I returned it and it shorted out again. I was told by my stylist to consider Hot Styler, has anyone heard of this product, she raves about it.

I bought my Chi a month ago and have yet to have any problems with it. Most negative reviews state that the Chi has shorting out problems, well look at the swivel on the end of the chi, to get the Chi to do that they had to make a very fragile connection between the cord and the straightener itself, a fatal flaw, but necessary for some of the maneuvering. Just take care of it, and do NOT wrap the cord around the Chi. (I kept the twisty tie and wrap the cord back up every times. :3 )

I received my Chi the other day, as soon as i got it i took it out of the box and went to work on my hair. I was extremely impressed with the Chi !! It heated up right away, and only had to go over each section of hair 1 time and my hair was straight. So, i give Chi a perfect 10 !!!!!!

I've had 2 Chi's within the last 3 yrs. My first was the original Chi which lasted about a 1 1/2 yrs. After a while the electric cord started to wear out and was causing short circuit. I then purchased the limited edition red chi which Ive also had for about year and half....Just yesterday the off/on button started short cicuiting...and this morning it started producing sparks so I just gave up tring to make it work. My experience has not been good with the durabilitly but it does its job...now here I am tryin to research which flat iron would be the best to buy having invested so much on the prior 2 I want to make sure I get my monies worth this next purshase.

As as a salon owner I must warn you of the dificulties of the returns. I purchase approx.12 per month and have 9 returned for poor manufactoring.I should have an easy time with returns because of the return policy with the company but I dont. no box no return. up to 6 months return time and no one to talk to at Farouk. they have lost 7 of my returns and will not honor them. for the price we pay Im not happy with the quality at all. Not to mention all the upset clients I have to deal with because of the companys poor wokmanship. do not expect any more than 1 year out of this tool and do not expect it to be replaced at all. that way you will not be dissapointed.
