My 2nd chi turbo just crapped out on me. Unless you can find an older original CHI, stray away from this brand, there is a reason most salons do not use CHI turbos, only classics and pink CHIs or FHIs. Specifically, the swivel mechanism on the cord lose connectivity after a certain amount of use. The company does not honor the warranty and I am stuck with 2 dead CHI's. I made attempts to repair the unit, but the bolts that hold the hinge apparatus together are locked and the bolts are made of such a low-grade metal that one will invariably strip both ends before successfully disassembling the unit. On a side note, my CHI Hair Dryer broke as well.

I would never buy another CHI. I got it on sale for $85.00 at a pro beauty supply. 8months later it heats up whenever it wants. It worked great at first when I got it. But now it sucks! I've heard of many people giving the same complaint. It just stops working. Dont buy one! I heard the Paul Mitchell flat iron works better.

I got mine at target and the handle is completely black i went to a beauty supply and the handle is kind of gray the quality of work mine does is very poor compared to the one my hair stylist uses and is the very same model, my cousin uses HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron and leaves my hair very soft just like i get it when i go to my hair stylist hope this helps, so if you are going to get one of this i think is better if you go to a beauty supply and test it i'm going to return mine to target and try this one on one side and HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron on the other side.

This is a great iron, until it stops working. I have had 2 of them. My first one stoped working just at a year, I bought another and it has in the last month done the same thing. It just will not heat up. I think this iron may need a recall and maybe rethink the inner workings give it some staying power.

My hairdresser used this on my hair the last time I went in, and I was shocked at how well this thing did on my hair. It didnt feel like my hair was being pulled or ripped at all. It just slides through your hair. My salon sells it for over $200. I found it on e-bay for $79 + $20 ship. The best deal ever! **Make sure to buy one that is authentic, though. NOT a "Like-Chi" model. I will always swear by this thing!!!!
