I purchased this flat iron at a trade show in vegas on a business trip. it is fabulous. i have very thin hair, and although it does not heat up as fast and as hot as your average flat iron, it is very softening and gentle on delicate hair. it's fast to smooth, it was a wonderful value and my hair is so quick and easy to style. if you have thick hair it would take a few extra moments to style as you would have to part off your hair and smooth in smaller segments, but i would recommed this product for anyone concerned with styling quickly and protecting ones delicate hair.

I just bought this thing today and used it for the first time. I was disappointed. It doesn't heat up as fast as it says it does and it doesn't do anything for thick hair like myself. I will be taking this product back and getting a Chi. This is a useless product for people with thick hair. Don't buy it!

you'll waiste your money if u have thick hair

The iron was not hot enough, in fact i would say the max heat setting only warmed my hair and took anywhere between 30-45 min. to straighten. I bought a plain Chi 1" classic iron and it now only takes about 10 minutes. I highly recommend the Chi iron if you have thick long curly hair like myself. why spend over a hundred dollars for some of those "top sellers" when u can buy this chi which works awesome for under 100 bucks if u look on the internet for a site that sells them for cheapest!

The heat was only warm even on max heat. Also, it doesn't run through my hair smoothly even compared to my regular traditional flat iron.

it's absolutely useless on thick hair

Even setting highest temperature, I spent 30 minutes trying to straighten my relatively short but thick hair and was absolutely disappointed with results.
I will keep trying different brands and irons but so far HAI Convertible Ceramic Flat Iron was the best. I was completely satisfied by quality, design and how it styled my hair for over 2 years. I highly recommend it if you do not have time and money to poke around.
