I bought this more than five years ago while in law school in Miami at a beauty supply store. This iron was recommended by the store owner -- it was this or the Sapphire, and this one was cheaper. . . although I spent $100 and on a law student's budget that meant it cost alot. In any event, I tried it, and I loved it. Because my hair is thick, coarse, and almost kinky-curly, I have to blow-dry my hair first BEFORE flatironing it. I discovered Biosilk's straightening product ONLY RECENTLY! -- and you definitely need something like it to get your hair really straight. It's very heavy, and if you are uncoordinated or do not have the patience to methodically go through section after section of hair, you may not want to buy this. BUT I JUST ORDERED A CERAMIC FLATIRON (HAI 2) AFTER MY HAIRDRESSER STARTED USING A CERAMIC FLATIRON ON MY HAIR AND I LOVED THE RESULTS. HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT STEEL FLATIRONS BURN OUT THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR SO YOU WILL NOT NOTICE YOUR HAIR GROWING BECAUSE YOU WILL NEED FREQUENT TRIMS TO CUT THE SPLIT-ENDS. THAT WAS REASON ENOUGH FOR ME TO GET A CERAMIC IRON, SINCE MY HAIR IS PAST MY SHOULDERS AND TO THE MIDDLE OF MY BACK. I will provide a review of the HAI 2 flatiron as soon as I receive it and style my hair. . . I'm looking forward to it! |
